BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL ASSESSMENT

  • A Biopsychosocial Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a licensed Social Worker to understand the full scope of factors influencing a person’s health, well-being, and recovery. This assessment looks beyond physical symptoms to explore the psychological, social, and environmental aspects of an individual’s life that may impact their rehabilitation journey.
  • During the assessment, the Social Worker gathers detailed information in the following key areas:
    • Biological: medical history, current health concerns, physical functioning
    • Psychological: mental health, emotional well-being, coping strategies, trauma
    • Social: relationships, family dynamics, employment, financial stress, support systems
  • The goal is to identify barriers to recovery, sources of stress, and areas where additional support may be needed. Based on the findings, the Social Worker provides personalized recommendations, resources, and interventions—such as counseling, case management, or community referrals—to support the client’s overall rehabilitation and quality of life.
  • This assessment is especially valuable for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents, chronic illness, or major life changes, where emotional and social factors can significantly influence healing.
  • At our rehabilitation clinic, we believe in treating the whole person. The Biopsychosocial Assessment is a key tool in creating integrated, person-centered care plans that promote lasting recovery and resilience.
