Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients’ functional abilities, medical history, and goals to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct patient care and implement treatment interventions to improve or restore patients’ abilities to perform daily activities.
- Assess patients’ progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and communicate with interdisciplinary team members.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and strategies to promote independence.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Occupational Therapy through professional development activities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
- Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Therapy principles, practices, and techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion for patients.
